River-city recreational interaction: A classification of urban riverfront parks and walks

Since the seventies, cities all over world are rediscovering their rivers. Recreational uses of urban streams becoming popular and public access to waterfronts is being improved. This has led construction a wide variety open spaces on riverfront with different ways interacting river ecosystem. In this research, we elaborate classification parks walks based two criteria: position space within corridor possibilities from water. To verify applicability framework, seven Spanish rivers have been studied. Results derived process show that recreational riverfronts can be categorized into three classes: floodplain, upland raised spaces.
